Product Care

Unique & rare jewellery items

Pearl Care

  • Pearls are an organic substance and need looking after.
  • Pearls should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off in order to minimize contact with perfume, make-up, perspiration etc, which can alter your pearls’ lustre and colour.
  • Wipe your pearls gently with a warm damp cloth to remove body oils before putting away.
  • Re-string your pearls every 1-2 years depending on how frequently you wear them.
  • Other jewellery can scratch your pearls so store wrapped in a soft material such as velvet, silk or satin.
  • Enjoy your pearls and wear them often to allow them to breathe….and to be admired of course!

Semi-Precious Stone Care

  • Whatever the piece all stones are vulnerable to knocks, chips and general abrasion
  • Store in a soft pouch or tissue to ensure they aren’t knocking against anything else.
  • Ring and bracelet stones will always be the most vulnerable through general wear and tear. All you can do is always be aware of this and accept it if it happens as we do want you to wear and enjoy your jewellery.

Care for strung jewellery.

  • In order to care for your strung jewellery store flat and straight, never hung.
  • Restring or have the stringing checked every 6-12 months depending on the frequency of wear.

Silver Care

  • Silver tarnishes when it is exposed to the air and not worn.
  • The best way we recommend to store your silver is in a sealed plastic bag os you can still what’s inside!
  • If your silver does discolour a rub with a clean silver cloth should it or a silver dip-but be careful not to leave it in too long.
